Since my Note 9 updated to 9.0 and One UI the compass is not working accurately.  About 90 degrees off. I've calibrated it several times (*#0*#) with no success. Anyone else experience this and is there a fix?  This is happening without a case on the phone so there is no interference from that.

So much for Samsung's voice of the customer. After a detailed report of the problem.

Hello Brad,

Thank you for contacting Samsung Technical Support.

Generally, there will be mixed reviews in the community links for which we cannot confirm the authenticity as there aren't any official reports about the issues with the Samsung update regarding the Compass calibration differences therefore we cannot confirm the authenticity of the claimings. However, I’ll help you with the required information.

As we're unsure if you've tried any troubleshooting in an attempt to resolve the issue, let's try some of them and check if they help.

Troubleshooting:

1.Check for the updates: Please check if there are any updates available for the application.

2.Uninstall and re-install the application.

If the issue still persists, I recommend you to contact the app developer as we don't have sufficient information on third party applications and their usage. So, if you have any queries regarding the Facebook app you can contact the App developer for further assistance.

If you have any other questions that needs to be addressed, now or in the future, we are always happy to help.

If you wish to chat, email or call us for further assistance, please go to the “Contact Us” option available on the right hand side of the E-mail.

Thank you for choosing Samsung products.

Sincerely,

Only the moderator can send the problem to samsung R&D team  and the team may have to replicate the issue to confirm. It would be better if there's supporting factor like pictures or videos so the team can go directly to the issue.

Should we be taking video of our compass not working?? If it'll help, I will! I'd like to get this resolved.

I got a response similar to that except I'd detailed what I already tried so they went right to the third party app thing. I gotta say, it rubbed me the wrong way. I understand not being able to help with given information, but I felt like I was flat out ignored when they suggested going to a third party app after I'd talked about the sensor being off in the diagnostic screen.

Picture will not tell or add anything! The compass is off, or acting like crazy! How do you picture it??

I meant if you take a picture to the compass, it does not tell if the compass was wrong or right!

The sensor sends wrong data to the apps.

I apoligize.  No idea why that other image popped up.  I was trying to cut and paste from my Note 9.  Must be another glitch.

This is the one that I sent to the moderators the other day for them to forward to R&D
