Since my Note 9 updated to 9.0 and One UI the compass is not working accurately.  About 90 degrees off. I've calibrated it several times (*#0*#) with no success. Anyone else experience this and is there a fix?  This is happening without a case on the phone so there is no interference from that.

I used sky map before the update and it was fine. I used other similar apps and they  were fine too.

They now act as you described in your post.

I don't know what Ubreak can do???

Our specialists have stated that an update is being released to correct this issue, however, at this time there is no ETA for the exact release date as we cannot speculate on the release of future updates.

How can Samsung continue to advertise the Note9 as having a compass when they don't even have an ETA on when the compass will work? Doesn't Samsung have any respect for the law?

"We broke it and we refuse to say when we will fix it" is NOT a "solution" and should not be marked as such. It is the opposite of a solution.

I started this thread 3 weeks ago and thought I would check in and see if there had been any update as to when a fix would be sent out. Instead I found it had been marked as solved. Don't know who has the ability to mark something as solved other than the creator of the thread but I sure didn't do it.  From what I can see it is far from solved.  I have the same issue with my DJI drone as Brad described.   I think I was able to remove the solved part of it but don't know if it will stick or not.  Can some moderator update as to where everything stands?

And?????   This was two weeks ago.  Any idea yet?  You have people out here that need that compass for work and I need it to make sure that I don't lose recovery feature on a $1300 Drone.  Been checking the OTA updates daily now.

I just checked for an OTA update, and sure enough one was waiting for me. I now have N960USQU1CSB3 and my compass appears to be working again! Still haven't updated the other two people in my household, but mine is good.

I also am having the same issue. Mine was pointing west. It's not 90 off. It's just completely wacky and does not work. 1300 dollar phone,  I expect more as this is used in locating satellites.

Ok, since this problem, while not spreading, I keep finding other things that are affected.  For those of us that fly Drones, I found something that can affect  your flights.

If you fly DJI, There is a feature that they call the "Radar Screen."  A small window that appears in the bottom Left corner of the controller screen.  It's purpose is to help keep you oriented towards your drone to make sure that the flat side of the antennas are oriented towards the craft to maximize the signal strength by pointing out which direction your drone is from you.  Today, the weather was finally calm enough that I could fly so I decideded to test this part of my controller.  Wanna guess what happened?  The flight was perfect, but the controller was pointing me in the wrong direction.  Wanna guess how much?  90 degrees to the left.

Sigh.. I'm ready for this problem to go away now..
