Notification screen

I have a third party podcast player and when I play it a player shows up when I pull my screen down. When I try to get rid of it by shipping left it leaves a huge blank space between the buttons and the screen britness. I can't figure out how to disable this and it only doing it with that one app no other app.

The only thing I can think of (and may not work for this) is swipe down twice so it shows all the icons. Click the 3 dots and go to "quick panel layout." See if "show devices and media above notifications" is checked.
