Quoting and replying to specific messages

I've noticed recently that with some persons that I text with, I can swipe on their message and actually "it and reply specifically to it. And then to some I cannot. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you discovered why that is? I would really like to be able to swipe and "any text message as if it was in messenger for Facebook. The iPhone has that capability already. I have a Galaxy note 10 plus.

I believe it only works when texting another Samsung user.

Oh, okay. That's horrible if it's true. iPhones can quote any messages from anyone. But this helps me to understand. I hadn't thought of that.
