Text messaging not coming through on default app

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. For awhile now I have not been able to receive txt msgs through the messaging app that came installed on the phone. Can anyone help resolve this issue? Its very annoying to have to use another app just for txt messages. Also, I no longer receive any of my Gmail notifications.

I had this same issue and I had to do a clear cache, Google how to clear cache and that should work
