I have a 2013 Toyota Prius. We had S9+ phones for several years with no bluetooth connectivity issues then one day we started encountering issues where it would just drop the bluetooth and you had to scramble to put the phone on speaker (dangerous if phone in backseat). Sometimes it will reconnect only to disconnect again. Thought it was the phone so updated both phones to S10+. Worked for a couple of months then same thing. Thought it was the car radio so had it replaced with same model factory version. Same problem. Son has iPhone and has no problems staying connected. Disconnected and reconnected multiple times, cleared bluetooth cache, turned off phone battery optimization but nothing works. Please help
Hi, I am sorry you are having difficulty with connecting your car to your s10+. If you cannot connect a Bluetooth accessory to your phone or tablet, going through the connection process step-by-step will help get your wireless devices working together. Try these steps here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001226/
Also, you can try wiping your device's cache partition. The steps for that are:
Performing a wipe cache partition removes any temporary files that may be causing an issue with the device. All personal files and settings are not affected by this option.
- Ensure the device is powered off.
If the device is unresponsive/frozen, press and hold the Power button (located on the upper-left edge) for approximately 10 seconds or until the device power cycles.
- Press and hold the Volume Up button (located on the upper-left edge) and the Home button (located at the bottom in the middle).
- While continuing to hold the Home and Volume Up buttons, press and hold the Power button (located on the right edge) until "RECOVERY BOOTING" appears in the upper left then release all buttons.
- Select wipe cache partition.
Utilize the Volume Up/Down buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.
- Select reboot system now.
Option is highlighted, utilize the Power button to select.
Finally if those do not help, try using your device in Safe Mode, to see if a third party application is to blame. The guide to Safe mode is here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/
Please let me know if this helps.
None of these fixed the issue with either my nor my wife's S10+. The problem appears to be with the Samsung since my son's iPhone is not having the same issue. What next?
