Battery not staying charged on Galaxy S9

My Battery will not stay charged for a long period of time.I have to turn the device completely off for it to charge to full percentage. I have my Galaxy s9 in Optimized Mode it was at Medium power mode. I do not know what is causing this. My Galaxy s9 is about a 18 months old so it shouldn't be acting like this. How do I fix it? I have done everything to try to fix this problem with no resolution.

If your phone or tablet is not holding a charge or if it turns on for just a few minutes before powering off, your battery is likely the cause of the problem. You should check for damage to the device's internal or external battery.
