Camera will not focus in anything other than .9 mode or less. I've reset the settings but no fix.

Depending on the device and camera it may have autofocus disabled. The fixed focal point may not be obvious at higher zoom levels but may show in some scenes. There's also tracking auto-focus in the camera settings for some phones. Plus some camera versions appear to lock/unlock focal point with exposure point if you press and hold on a subject, the exposure disk changes color and shows an unlocked icon at the top. Experimenting with my S25U I can only enable manual focus in photo modes like Pro and Expert Raw. Click the AF-[x] button and choose from center, multi-point or manual. Center is the best place to start investigating. It's similar in video, AF mode only an option in pro modes. That does imply autofocus, probably center, should be the default in the non-pro modes. It may also be shutter speed too slow if the zoom > 0.9 just due to the reduced field of view being dimmer than the wide view scene. Also check you don't have any modes like night or astrophoyography enabled where focal length can be locked at infinity. For the back cameras the 50MP is often best (S25U). After that I'd try to see if it is consistent across all the camera resolutions (200MP, 50MP, 24MP and 12MP camera options on a S25U). It may be better if you use a resolution greater than saved pictures but less than the maximum (12.5MP saved but cameras range 12MP to 200MP on a S25U). There tends to be more detail from the middle resolution cameras. Disable all camera features, all white options, none yellow (S25U) and work up from the default feature set.
