Here is the best solution. Remove the Samsung clock App from your home page (you can't delete it, apparently) and install the Google, LLC Clock app instead. Works great in dismissing the alarm from a locked screen and even includes the always on clock display with dimming at night. Samsung apps are not very well vetted for actual user experience, IMHO.

I have the same problem. Unless I unlock the screen rhe alarm cannot be dismissed. This almost makes the alarm useless. Fumbling around while the alarm just went off in the morning g while it's still going off then not being able to stop it is bad. Then if I just hit snooze to stop the dang alarm I forget and then it's going off again while I'm in the shower. All these flakey android apps are really maki g me second guess leaving apple. Maybe they cost more for a reason.

One more bonus of the Google Clock App: It allows you to set the volume for alarms to increase gradually.  Samsung used to do this but someone decided to eliminate this feature on newer Galaxy phones. Samsung-are you listening????

I'm having the same problem with dismissing an alarm in the lock screen. I can only snooze it. Same problem with answering a call and this started after an update a couple of weeks ago. DRIVING ME INSANE!!

Thank you - I can confirm this works. Grateful!

Any way to reduce the size of the timer font to how it was with Oreo?

This works. Thank goodness! I didn't want to put a different app on my phone.

I'm having the same problem - nothing has fixed it yet. I also cannot find the option to be able to dismiss an alarm while in lock screen. That has disappeared.

Same, I am not able to dismiss my alarm or decline phone calls. Very irritating. The only way to turn off my alarm is to hit the side button which actually snoozes it, which I don't do (never snooze) or go into the actual clock app and turn off the alarm, which is counterproductive as I have a daily alarm set that goes off at the same time every single day which I now have to turn off and back on every single day making that functionality pointless.

I am having the exact same issue. Quite annoying to have to unlock phone, go into clock app, turn off alarm, then turn back on again for tomorrow. First world problem?  Maybe, but annoying nonetheless. The title of this thread shouldn't say "Solved", since it clearly isnt.
