Is there a way in Contacts ver. 12.1.20.11 to make mass area code entries?
Been adding phone numbers without area codes for some time. The phone company will now require area codes be entered in order to dial local numbers.

I'm not sure where you are, however here in South Florida we have been using 10 digit numbers for many years. Good luck holding in to area codeless numbers.

Because they part of the U.S. I live in only has one area 7 digits is all that was needed for more than 40 years. Now we will need to include the area code just to dial a local number.

Ok let me answer my own question. I completely forgot that the contracts can be exported to a file that MS-Excel could read and it should be fairly easy to make an area code column and merge it to the phone number column. Weeding out contacts with duplicate area codes shouldn't be a problem. Once done I can import the new contacts back into my smartphone! 🤪
