Email Scrolling Problem

A week ago I started having an issue while using the Samsung email app that acts like some type of scroll lock.

I can open the email app, select which email account I want to use with no problem. But, when I try to type a message in a new email or reply to an email I can only type until the text message body meets the keyboard box. At that point the cursor/screen snaps back up to the top of the message. It won't allow me to scroll further down the screen. I can keep typing but there's no way to view what I'm writing.

Something has changed in the Samsung email program because it was working right before. This happens with I use both MSN and Comcast emails. My Samsung phone no longer receives updates so that can be ruled out as the cause. I've not changed any settings.

This is very aggravating! I've seen that other users are having this same problem with all stating that the issue started in the past couple of weeks. What's changed? C'mon, Samsung... fix this ASAP! This is totally unacceptable!!

UPDATE: THIS MORNING THERE WAS AN UPDATE TO SAMSUNG EMAIL THAT INCLUDED A PATCH TO FIX THE SCROLLING PROBLEM. SO FAR, SO GOOD!

As above, I check the email behavior in the am and uninstall updates every other day or so, I've gotten slick at it, it only takes a minute. Sigh.

I have the same problem with S23+.  Same to my husband's old S21 last week and he yelled to get a new phone so we brought a S24FE 3 days ago and we expected it won't happen on a brand new phone, but not at all the Samsung email app or the new UI apparently have bugs.  Please fix it Samsung!!!

I’ve identified a workaround for this issue. It occurs when you’re typing your email and attempt to scroll down. However, if you click on another element—such as the email subject—you’ll then be able to scroll. It’s not a perfect solution, but it works for me.

Thanks. I tried this and it didn't work for me. I touched the Subject line and I COULD then scroll down to see the email I was replying to, but, when I started typing my message in the text box the scroll lock returned.

Hi guys, a happy Fold 5 user here. I don't usually send bigger emails, but in my experience this issue in the Samsung Email app is there for a longer time on my Fold 5 than this TS is having the issue in his situation, as in months longer. With bigger emails i anticipate this issue before even typing but always hope i don't get to that point that i have to scroll. Haven't tried any solutions, because i just keep the faith that they'll find a fix for this issue.

And yes even with a Fold you can run into this issue, so even with a bigger screen.

I have the same problem over the last few weeks. Tried changing keyboard but that did no good. It is very annoying and makes replying to emails a headache on my phone.

Tried switching back and forth with rich text and it helps temporarily but not a permanent fix.

Found in a different thread, in a different link. Worked for me:

——

I received this from Samsung support today....."We are aware of the email scrolling issue, the good news is that our software experts have said there will be a fix available this month, keep checking for updates via Settings > Software update > Download and install.

A temporary workaround is to uninstall Android System WebView updates. Head to Settings > Apps > Android System WebView > 3 Dots > Uninstall updates."

Several of us have tried that fix and it worked but only temporarily. The bug returned two days later for me. Has your email remained fixed after a few days have passed?
