My Samsung Galaxy S7 has had a fingerprint error for years now. I was wondering if they ever came up with a fix for that.

Delete your saved biometrics from the phone and your samsung account in the biometric and security settings, samsung pay and pass, then go to other security settings and check your keep security policy up to date, your trust agents if you have them and then turn off your device admin if you have one. Now go back to fingerprints and register a new one or more, set a new password or pattern if you have to and make sure you select fingerprints as the lock type after use biometrics and just fingerprints for the time being and see if that works.
