Galaxy s7 edge - ring tones GONE

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Upon completing transfering contacts, apps, data etc from Note to Galaxy S7 Edge, and finishing half-day setup process, noted that all except one original ringtones are gone, not existing any more on new s7 Edge. How to return the original ringtones, but please without factory reset... Tried to 'solve' the problem by installing ring apps, but hate their advertising...

@Edger

I think you choose es file explorer to be the program that handles ringtones. That is the cause.

To test, uninstall the app. Then use settings, sounds, ringtones and see what ringtones you have.

I bet someone has made MP3s out of those and you can download them. Have you googled for them?

Well, not yet. I keep that possibility if no other solution. But here, the main question is why such things are happening, and what will disappear next.

@Edger

So let me ask you, the original ring tones that were on S7 are gone (except one)? or you expected to have the Note ringtones transfered to S7 adn they are not?

Hi. The original ringtones are gone, missing, that is my problem. Cannot say exactly if that has happened due to data transfer from old phone or for some other reason, but after data transfering noticed that the ring tones are missing. I did not expect the ringtones to be transfered from old phone.

Could be a bug in the data transfer. I assume you have already restarted the phone & cleared the phone cache.

That is all I can think of which is not really a solution but just some basics.

@Edger

Do you have ES File Explorer App installed?

@Superman

Thanks for your efforts. Yes, I have ES file explorer app installed.

By using it I can find only the one ringtone which remained...

Restarting did not help, nor switching off then on.
