Galaxy S Phones
I am a former Sprint customer and since the merger of Sprint and T-Mobile I was informed that I needed to put in the new t-mobile SIM card in my Samsung 10 Galaxy phone that was purchased in Sprint store over a year ago. ( My husband upgraded his phone and they sent it to him in the mail plus a new SIM card for me). That was 2 weeks ago I have yet to receive a Samsung software monthly update. T-Mobile said not to worry I should be receiving one soon and Samsung said it is out of their hands it is a Carrier issue meaning it depends on when the Carrier decides to release the software to the Samsung phone.
My question is could the new T-mobile SIM card be the reason why I am not getting the software update? Also if that is true how do I update with my Dell computer? I do have a smart switch app on my S10, however what do I need to do with the computer.
I was informed by a T-Mobile representative that since it is time for me to upgrade the phone just go to the store purchase the Samsung 20 transfer everything over from the Samsung 10 to that and my problems will be solved. However being laid off because of the pandemic money is a little tight and I want to keep the Samsung 10 as long as I can.
Thank you

sorry and you won't get that update. it's T mobile way of making all former Sprint customers to get their phones. I haven't got a update since June 2020. did some research and found out that the phones are pre programed for each carrier, thus since Sprint in now gone, your phone will work, but no updates

Thank you for your response I appreciated it. Yes your right I figured that was the reason of course when you call T-Mobile they don't say anything and when you call Sprint they don't say anything. It's up to community boards like this one to help each other out.
I will try and keep the phone as long as I can before I end up going to the T-Mobile store, I know they have promotions right now for Samsung phones it's just I don't understand why they force us to do this... you would think they be a little considerate because of what is going on in the world.

agree 100%. just another heads up, alot of people on here have been complaining about T mobile and Samsung phones, so I guess be careful. I was with Sprint, then T mobile, and had nothing but problems. Now I'm with Verizon and couldn't be happier. But I have to say for price, yes T mobile wins, just how much is your time, and frustration worth ?
