Try seeing if there is a quick contact widget on your daughter's phone. If so, it should allow the option to quick call and/or quick text them. That widget should be able to be moved to the home screen.

You have a couple of options to set a contact on your home screen. If your daughter has the Google Contacts app is easy. You open the app, open a contact and select from the three dots menu on the top right of the screen. However if she doesn't have Google Contacts, do the following: hold a finger on a open space on the home screen, this will bring up some items on the bottom of your screen. Select widgets, this will bring up a screen of widget options and one of them is add a contact to the home screen. I'm adding screen shots of these steps.Screenshot_20210626-195917_One UI Home.jpgScreenshot_20210626-195843_One UI Home.jpgScreenshot_20210626-195857_One UI Home.jpg
