There's a reason all manufacturers do this for Android updates more than 100 MB. It's because of the multitudes of people that have 1 or 2 GB plans that would be littering the internet with comments and reviews saying "don't buy this phone, it steals all my data". If they force everyone to use wifi then these people that have no understanding of the way things work cannot jump to conclusions. It's actually a huge step forward for the manufacturers to update Android directly. Until fairly recently you had to update Android through a carrier. It was a big process before if you weren't on a network tied phone. When more people get an understanding of this, the manufacturers will add a check box for mobile data use eventually. I understand their position of predicting an ignorant response from the public even though it's frustrating when you have unlimited data.

Then make me jump through hoops. Don't take it away completely.... hide the option behind my fingerprint pattern and pin number or something. I'd much rather be complaining about the hoops I had to jump through than not being able to do it at all.😫😫😫😫
