Hello!

I am using a samsung galaxy s9 plus for 2 years now and have updated it yesterday. Today I have noticed that photos and videos have gone missing and as I checked the unit's storage, it just says SD card is corrupted and I need to have it formatted. I am using a samsung 128gb SD card and it is only now that I had issues with it being corrupt. I have checked other post about sd cards being corrupted following an android update, but I can't seem to get it working due to changes that was brought about by the update. Is there a way for me to recover the files without using a PC? Has anyone experienced the same thing after the latest android update?

To recover lost files like photos and videos from SD card, you can try SD card data recovery tool like Coolmuster Lab.Fone for Android. Its SD Card Recovery mode can help us access to the lost files like photos and videos from SD card on your Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. But before that, please make sure the lost data not being overwritten by new data.

I was having the exact same issue today, but I restarted my phone a few times and suddenly my apps and photos are all accessible again; I hope this works for you as well!

Awesome to hear I have the same too and my sd is also 128GB it's a Sandisk ultra plus. What you say photos and videos missing is only by on your SD that you can't access(?) I have researched throughout and discover that your SD card is set to read only. Therefore this means your gonna have access to read your files from PC using card reader. Copy all that is to the computer or a flash drive. In the meantime take your SD out of your phone and don't touch it meaning don't keep using it on your current phone.

I believe I found the cause,  on the sd card there's a folder called Android. That folder gets corrupted and it's impossible to delete. I had to copy evening i had on my SD card to pc. Reformat the sd card copy back all data.  Then it worked.

your sd card isn't working correctly and has been set to read -only to prevent data loss. backing up the data on your sd is recommended
