Galaxy S PhonesHi
I have to retype this because my browser deleted my last attempt...
I just updated to one UI 8 and now the scrolling screenshot does not function as it should.
Specifically, in discord, when I take a screenshot and scroll, it now shows a bunch of the 'scroll to bottom' arrows that discord shows of you're far from the bottom of a channel.
To be perfectly clear, this is not a discord issue. The phone updated. Discord did not. It worked right up into the update.
It only seems to happen if the screenshot would include images (I tried taking one of just text with nothing sensitive but it didn't do it there)
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S22, Android 16, One UI 8.
Any workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Tried force stopping the screen capture app to no effect.
Thank you.

Galaxy S Phones@Members_DPKkys5 That is weird. I am not able to duplicate that at all. I am using Discord version 305.12-Stable.
Did you wipe the device cache partition after the update? I recommend that you do this after every device update. It wipes out incompatible or outdated cache information which might be incompatible after the update. It does not erase any user data nor applications.
To wipe the device cache partition:
1. Power off your device.
2. Power up while holding down the Volume up key and the Side key until the Samsung logo appears.
3. An Android recovery menu will appear.
4. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Wipe cache partition.
5. Click the side key to select it.
6. Use the Volume down key to scroll down to Yes.
7. Click the side key to select it. The Cache will be wiped almost instantaneously.
8. Click the side key to select "Reboot system now"

I don't know where the 'I explained in your last post' reply that I see in my email went, but I need a workaround.

Galaxy S PhonesOkay, but if you had a house that was all nice and sturdy, and the people who made the walls came back and lit them on fire, you wouldn't blame the roofers for the roof also catching fire. You said yourself Samsung charged a functionality that worked just fine. There should be a way to revert this and all the other needless ""improvements""

Galaxy S PhonesNot quite the right analogy. The analogy you are looking for is if the wall hangers used a new material and the roofers did not adapt their roofing methods so the walls should not go up in flames, it is the roofers' fault, not the wall hangers'. Let me explain.
The long screen shot functionality has, indeed, changed. Instead of taking a shot, tapping the arrow, taking another shot, etc. You now only have to take the first shot, hit the arrow, wait til the next shot is automatically taken, then hit the arrow again. Repeat until you have your entire segment. After a pause, the phone will recognize another tap is not forthcoming and compile your sections into one image.
I actually don't know what you are trying to explain is happening when you try to long screen shot Discord, but the only arrows you should be concerned about is the one beneath the screen shot thumbnail on the action bar, not any arrows on Discord itself.
Just because they changed the functionality of the way the long screen shot works, does not mean it messed with the way Discord handles it. If it created problems in apps, it would be in all apps, not just one. How does it work in other apps - this one, for example? The fact that Discord has not updated to accommodate the new process/operating system is on the Discord programmers.
I don't disagree there should be a way, the way Windows has, to rollback a problematic update so that people can troubleshoot. I actually like the new way long screen shots are handled and "improvements" and "enhancements" and new features I don't use, I just ignore or don't enable.
Is this your only issue with the update, or are there others?

Galaxy S PhonesOkay, but it is, because they took things that worked fine and broke them for no reason. It already worked fine.
This is what I mean. In the one image, it shows the scroll arrow discord always shows,. In the second you can see it weirdly has a half duplicate of it from where it was before the screenshot started scrolling.
Changing things for no reason and then sitting back with your arms crossed like 'everyone else should just fix their apps because we messed compatibility up' is a terrible philosophy.
