I'm not sure how else to describe this. I have my S9 paired with the Sync system in my Ford Fusion. When my wife sends me a text message, it shows up as if it came from me, using my full name (which is not how my name appears anywhere -- it's showing Daniel instead of Dan). I found the entry in my car phone book with that name, and it includes my wife's cell phone number and my cell phone number. I deleted the entry. Sync warned me that it might reappear during automatic download of contacts. Sure enough, the next time I started my car, the entry appeared again. My phone is now the only phone paired with my Sync system. The entry that keeps popping back up in the car does not appear in my Contacts. I've searched contacts for my name as it shows up in the car, and I get no results. I've searched contacts for the last 4 digits of my wife's phone number, and I only get the correct listing under her name. There is no listing in contacts that I can find that includes my name and her number. Where else in the S9 could this information be stored for my car to download it? I can't think of any place else that would have her phone number, let alone paired with my name. I asked the same question on a Ford forum and didn't get resolution, but did get through some of the tracking I've been doing trying to sort this out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I finally tracked it down, and I think the suggestion about Samsung Cloud pointed me in the right direction. I was in the Samsung+ app and took a look at my profile. This screen showed my name as Dan, but when I tapped my name the next screen showed it as Daniel. Tapping My Information took me to a screen that showed my name (as Daniel) along with both my phone number and my wife's I edited that screen and removed my wife's phone number, then pulled up the phone book in my car. I still have the Daniel entry with only the single phone number showing. My wife texted me and the car displayed her name. I guess Ford Sync for some reason downloaded my Samsung profile along with my Contacts. Thanks for helping me muddle through this one.
It's the car bro.. duh.. likely when you purchased the vehicle, perhaps it was your name&her#,, or something to do with either registration or insurance. 😉👍
