Galaxy S PhonesIt's really hard to understand what you are trying to convey here, as you do not have any paragraph breaks and many run-on sentences. I had to read it many times. You should be able to tap anywhere in the video frame to select the segment of video you want to cut or edit. You should still be able to play the video in the editor and when you pause it, the indicator will be at the proper frame. That little speaker symbol on the bottom right, is where you add your soundtrack. More advanced editing, such as cutting out a middle frame(s) and just using the remainder, would likely require a more advanced video editing app than is provided by the phone.

Galaxy S Phones@Prime_Optimization I would recommend a new tactic and try Studio.
- In Gallery, click the 3 line menu in lower right.
- Click "Go to Studio".
- Click "Start new project".
- Select your video.
- Click on Done.
- Now you have some expanded editing tools.

Galaxy S PhonesIt's easy, pause it, and note the time stamp, hit edit, then move the slide to match. Watch the preview to make sure it looks right, then save.

Galaxy S PhonesIf the cursor is in the middle of the edit, grab it and drag it all the way to the end, and hit play. It will jump to the front and play the cut you've selected.
Or, what I think you might also mean is...
In edit, press play. When the video is where you'd like to edit the video to begin, pause it. Press and hold the cursor, then release. Tap the left icon that pops up and the beginning marker will move to the cursor's current location.
Press play and do the same for the right side.
Press play and the cursor will play the edit you've selected.
