Multiple text notifications per text with do not disturb on

So since samsung doesn't have Autoreject for calls not in contacts or silent for texts not in contacts it was suggested to use dnd all the time.

I do this because robocalls and lately the political texts were getting out of hand.

I am having an issue with the texting giving multiple notifications for a single text sometimes immediately, sometimes minutes or hours later it will sound off again if I hadn't marked it as read yet. It looks like it is doing it when a silented push notification comes up.

Any ideas to fix. I have a galaxy s8+.

ot sounds like my Note10+ is doing the same thing. Annoying sound and flash notifications while I am trying to write a text. I've considered support multiple times. No one knows how to control this
