Problems with the set up process from the Wallet app Galaxy S20 Ultra

Hello,

I'm reaching out for assistance with a persistent issue I'm experiencing while setting up Samsung Wallet on my Galaxy S20 Ultra. Each time I try to complete the setup process, the wallet app becomes unresponsive or behaves erratically — for instance, a single tap often registers multiple times or triggers repeated actions. This makes it extremely difficult to proceed with the setup.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Uninstalled and reinstalled the Samsung Wallet app via both the Galaxy Store and Google Play Store

Cleared the app’s cache and data multiple times

Restarted my phone several times

Verified that both the app and device software are fully up to date

Despite these troubleshooting steps, the issue persists. I've spent several hours attempting to resolve it without success. Any support or guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I can't offer any support or guidance, I can only ask a question or two. Are there any other peculiarities? Could it simply be that it's 5 years old and nearing its end of life?

@SkizzyBryan I am surprised that the security certificates and general security level on that old device are still valid for wallet transactions.

I just ordered a Samsung Galaxy s20 Ultra New in the box. It has not arrived yet but I have found out that I may not be able to update the Android system from 10 to 13 since I understand that just recently they stopped supporting updates on this phone, is that correct even though it has not been updated from Android 10 that I will not be able to update it to Android 13?? This is very important as I need at least Android 11 to be able to use it in my vehicle

@Cecil007 I would expect your carrier would still have the updates to get it to Android 13. But it won't get any updates beyond 13.

I would be happy if they can do that as all I need is a minimum of Android 11. I saw something that Samsung quit offering updates for that phone in April of this year
