S10 5G Verizon to another carrier

I am trying to switch my carrier from Verizon to Mint, a T Mobile wholesaler. Verizon said my device is unlocked, but I still get a message "sorry, your device cannot be activated on another Network right now" then it says to call Verizon.

Neither Verizon nor Mint have a solution. Is it possible it's a Samsung firmware thing with the S10 5G? My wife's Note 9 switched over with no problems.

I ended up flashing the newest ATT firmware (which is compatible with with the Verizon S10 5G) with Odin, and everything worked from there.

Get rid of the Verizon firmware if you're not on their network!

How long have you had your phone? Verizon locks their phones to their network for 90 days after activation

I've had it several months and Verizon maintains that it is unlocked (I've called twice).

I have seen in some other forums that the S10 5g does not have "carrier switching capabilities" yet, that automatically updates the firmware.

This is leading me to believe I need to flash TMobile firmware...

I'm not sure about the 5G model specifically but I have Mint Mobile. You don't want to flash T-mobile firmware because it's for T-mobile proper rather than MVNO's that use their network. I use the carrier free firmware on my S10+.

Be careful if you flash firmware because the 4G firmware isn't compatible with the 5G model.

Very glad to hear you found a solution. I'm in the same boat, however moving to Tmobile with Note 10 5G. Wondering after you flashed at&t firmware with Odin, are you getting 5G signals? I'm not sure if mint has 5G, but wondering if you had a chance to check if it works on 5G
