Galaxy S PhonesI hope this isn't a duplicate as I tried to post it last night.
Nfc had been working fine until recently.
Nfc shows on but is greyed out and apps that need it say it is off.
I have restarted the phone multiple times and cleared the cache.
No new apps have been installed that I am aware of.
Only change was a network unlock from MetroPCS using a Verizon Sim.
Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Galaxy S PhonesThank you for the reply but that is a rather extreme solution which was also one of the first things that phone support recommended when I called in.
My problem was resolved without doing that.
While in safe mode I was able to go into apps, system apps, nfc, then force stop and clear the data and cache.
This seems to be fix the problem.
Fwiw while the problem was on going my battery lost about 25% in about 4 to 5 hours just sitting idle.

Galaxy S PhonesI would recommend trying a factory reset on your device. Important: Please save any information you need prior to the factory reset because otherwise your personal information may not be recovered. If you have encrypted the microSD card, you must decrypt it before resetting the phone. Otherwise, your phone will not be able to read the data on the card. From Settings, search for and select Decrypt SD card, and then follow the on-screen prompts.
Before you perform a factory reset, be sure to back up your personal data, so you don't lose it all. Give this link a try: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/
If you continue to experience these symptoms, I would recommend reaching out to your carrier for further assistance.

Galaxy S PhonesIf you were able to correct this issue through safe mode your problem may be related to a 3rd party app that you are running. Keep that in mind if this pops up again.

Galaxy S PhonesHave you ever managed to resolve this?
Im facing the exact same issue and Its drivig me nuts. Sending the phone to samsung costs almost half the phone's value in my region. So I'm completely blind on the issue.
