S7 Software Update of 9.0 Android Oreo this past Saturday

JUMP TO SOLUTION

On Saturday morning while at work, my Galaxy S7 did a software update.  Since that update my phone runs ads that I cannot get rid of and my battery drains quicker. Can someone please explain why this is happening?

While it may seem related to the update, the device running normally in Safe Mode indicates the issue is caused by a third-party app. You will need to remove the app that is causing the issue. To know which app, requires deleting them all and re-installing them one by one to check each application individually.

Hello, where on the phone are these ads appearing? Mainly on the lock screen or when you access certain apps?

They appear all over. I can literally try sending a message and it shows an ad and I have to close that ad...they also like pop in an out. None of this was happening before this update.

@userAmz3nvYA2E: Do the ads appear if the device is booted into Safe Mode?

This is not solved. My phone was falling and when I grabbed it, I accidentally hit solved. This issue is not yet resolved. How do I put my phone is safe mode to see if that helps?

Ok, while in safe mode there were no pop up ads. My phone also charged. So what should I do now because the issues began after the update to my phone.
