S8 sim not supported

Hi, i recently got a gift of S8 at&t version from USA. When i insert a sim in my home country it shows sim card is not provisioned. I cant make any call or received any call.  Can some give me a simple solution to this that i can use the in future.

It's probably locked to AT&T. Meaning they have to contact AT&T. Or the sim card is useless and can't be used

Your last sentence is correct. The SIM is inactive.
(Note: An AT&T S8 can only be unlocked for use with other carriers in the US, not from another region.)
