Galaxy S PhonesI'm reaching out here because I’m extremely frustrated and don’t know what else to do.
I’m experiencing a persistent and very frustrating issue on my Samsung S10e: whenever I play music via Spotify using Bluetooth, my stereo receiver (Teufel Ultima 20 Kombo with CD-Receiver KB 43 CR 19) turns off automatically after a few seconds of playback. The bluetooth on the phone is still on, only the music receiver is turned off.
This problem occurs only with some apps, e.g. Spotify and Instagram. Other music sources like the soundcloud app (not an up-to-date version) or local playback do not cause the stereo to shut down. Similarely, if my laptop is connected via bluetooth to my stereo it does not turn it off (also not if the desktop version of spotify is used).
If I turn on my receiver again after an automatic shutdown, my mobile reconnects itself via bluetooth. Once I press play on spotify, the stereo is turned off again
I've contacted Spotify Customer Support because that was the first app I noticed it, but so far I’ve only been redirected from one person to another without ever receiving a proper explanation or actual support. Since I noticed that also the playback of other apps turn off my receiver, I come to realise that it is indeed an Samsung or Android issue, not an app issue (also my phone is the only thing that has recently changed).
I know that it's possible to use mobilephones, or music apps respecitvely, as remote control via bluetooth in Android 12 and assume that somehow this is the origin. However, I don't know how to turn this off.
I’m hoping someone from Samsung or the community can finally shed some light on this or at least escalate it properly.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions,
Hannah
Device
Samsung S10e (SM-G970F/DS)
Operating System
Android 12
On a side note, here's what I've already tried, as suggested by spotify customer service:
Restarted my stereo and streaming devices
Logged out of Spotify on all devices and logged back in
Cleared cache and reinstalled the Spotify app
Checked for firmware updates on both my Spotify app and Android
Tested bluetooth playback from different devices (e.g., phone, tablet (Android 13 - same issue) , computer (Windows 10 - spotify desktop app does not show the same issue)
Disabled any energy-saving features that might interfere
Tried disabling/enabling Spotify Connect — both showed the same issue
