I purchased an extra battery for my Samsung S5 in Japan. I believe it's an OEM battery. I bought it at Bic Camera, which is a reputable store, and the battery says Samsung Electronics and "Made in Korea" on it. I have no reason to believe it is not legit.
Yet the battery has started bulging and no longer fits properly in the phone. This is a spare battery that I keep in its case except when I travel, when I sometimes need the extra battery power.
I suspect this is a defective battery. It still holds a charge, but I am scared to use it now.
Has Samsung issued any recall for S5 batteries, or are there any known defects?
Kind of scary thay it can just bulge like that.
I would recommend reaching out directly to the place that you purchased the battery from.
