Samething happend to my s8 awhile back.

Over the year battery ages and if you are over charging the any device thats the result.
Nothing to worry just replace the battery.

I've also learned using it less can also make it's battery expand physically.

It was an old phone I had in a drawer. Opened the drawer up and saw the phone looked a little phat. Atheist it wasn't my new phone.

Yeah occasionally you need to pull those phones out and make sure they have a charge during storage.
