Google Messages (sms/rcs) is able to see pictures in your Secure Folder even when it's locked. Saw another app recently able to see apps/pictures in your Secure folder too while locked but can't remember the name of it.

Can you provide proof of this, because from the explanation it sounds like it could be user error.

Is Google Messages installed inside the Secure Folder? T
If that were the case, then of course it can see other files in there.

Also, if your secure folder is actually not locked, apps can see or share to it. There is also a function within the secure folder that automatically shows some files and apps back to the normal Android installation. Check Secure Folder > Settings >
Other Security Settings > Automatic data decryption

From now on, when "locking" your secure folder, use the *Encrypt* function instead, and then not even the secure folder apps will run in the background or be readable even if someone had a bypass for Knox (which does not exist besides NSO solutions).

Sorry didn't get notifications for your reply. I've been using secure folder for years and this was the first I've seen images accessible outside of the folder while locked.

Messages was not installed inside the secure folder but I saw 2 pokemon go screenshots (installed in my secure folder) from my secure folder while selecting images to send in an text chat. Notably I did have Messages on a beta update though I don't think that would affect access to secure folder.

I'm trying to recreate the issue today but looks like Messages had an update yesterday and is not showing any screenshots from the locked folder.

I see what happened. When you take screenshots (no matter if they are secure folder or not) , they are copied to your clipboard memory. To prevent screenshots from copying to clipboard while in Secure Folder, you gotta enable the option. Unchecked "allow clipboard" under 'additional security settings' from within SF.

Some of these were fairly old though, and some were screenshots I took outside of SF and transferred in. I did just clear my clipboard yesterday trying to recreate the issue so maybe the clipboard has been logged for a while.

I'm also unable to replicate the images popping up with the SF unlocked and checking Google Messages. There must've been a bug that prevented my SF from locking or maybe the beta for Messages had an issue.

I've never had to before, seems like it's working correctly today but Messages had an update as well so not sure if that's related
