Should we wait for the S24 Ultra?

Based on rumors, early renders and leaks,it seems like the main focus of S23 Series is S23/S23 Plus and little to no changes on the S23 Ultra. A few hours ago, there's been reports that the S24 Ultra will have a new telephoto solution sensor and better color science and AI algorithms across the camera system. Speculation aside, should we just skip the S23 Family as a whole and wait another year? Or should we jump on the S23 trade-in deals when the time comes? Any thoughts?

The Upgraded Memory is 10 times faster in the S23 Ultra than the previous galaxy.
The S23 Ultra camera is Upgraded to a whopping 200MP which is like having a 200X Zoom (about a 1/4 mile you can read a box label.
Satellite connectivity and the list goes on.
This is the upgrade. The next 2 models will be modified versions of the 2023 Base.

I much rather have the 200x Zoom Feature than a 200MP main sensor. 108MP hasn't lived up to expectation after 4 generations of Ultra. It's very good just not great. 200MP I'll believe it when I see it.

No one is going to know sooner than you will. πŸ˜•
If you see a good deal, then jump on it. You can wait forever if you want to get the best phone. Because each new phone is going to be better than the last. So there's no point in waiting for the S24 when the S23 isn't even out yet.

Perhaps, but if each new phone is going to be better than it's predecessor then what's truly going to justify the upgrade? Cost-cutting methods? Better specs? Higher Megapixel count? I much rather see perfection in refinements.

An upgrade is getting any better specifications and features than your current phone 🀨

Sounds good on paper but is the upgrade really better than the last phone? S21 Ultra was the real upgrade over the S20 Ultra. S22 Ultra was a downgrade from the S21 Ultra/Note 20 Ultra in every way possible. Even the 30x zoom shots looked darker and granier on S22 Ultra than they did on the S21 Ultra/Note 20 Ultra. Alleged better specs and features doesn't really mean better.

Upgraded processor
Upgraded AI
Upgraded cooling system
Upgraded materials
Plus it was everything the S21 Ultra was trying to be with it supporting the Spen but not including it.
It does sound good on paper, as well as in practice. If you believe the S22 Ultra was a downgrade in "every" possible way, then you're looking at the wrong paper.

I had the S22 Ultra and compared it with the last 2 Ultras under it. S22 Ultra stereo speakers terrible, super zoom shots bad,108 mp main camera not perfected to its full potential. S Pen is not really a deal breaker. AI a little too aggressive. Cooling system laughable. Materials meh. S21 Ultra didn't need an S Pen to prove it was top dog,it spoke for itself. If you still believe the S22 Ultra was truly the superior Ultra on paper/in practice then one of us clearly hasn't done any side by side testing in the wild.

The galaxy S23 ultra will be mainly focused on the camera, bringing the 200mp main lens. They are also changing the shape of the phone to have a flatter edge.

If you like the ultra, i would say skip the s23 series.

But if you want the S23, or the plus, then absolutely grab them. I skipped out on the galaxy s22 because the temperatures were very high, and the battery was poor.

There's a good chance that I will try to get an s23. The chip is supposed to make less heat, and the chip is supposed to be more power efficient. Pairing that power efficiency with 200 mAh more battery is sure to fix the battery life issues.
