Many people are saying that you should use the category on the advanced settings of Notifications, then you do other stuff to get custom sounds for different apps. But here is a easy way to do it.

First, download your custom sound.

Then, go to My Files, copy the sound and go to initial storage, and put it on the Notification folder and then confirm.

Lastly, go back to settings, go to sounds and vibration, go to change notification tone, then you will find what you want!

I hope this helps for you all! šŸ‘šŸ½

This will only change the default notification sound for all notifications on the phone.  If people want specific custom notification sounds for different apps, they MUST have the categories turned on.  If the notification categories are not on, every app will have the same notification sound and people won't be able to tell their email notifications from their messages notifications or from their banking notifications unless the app provides its own specific sound.  But, thanks for the tip.

No, this is for ALL apps.  Doing this will allow one to put their own custom notification sound on the phone, so they are not stuck with Samsung's stock sounds, but it will be the default for all apps.  Some apps (such as mail, messages, weather, etc.) have actual categories in notifications and many people like to have different sounds for their different email accounts, their different conversations, different weather alerts, different banking apps, etc.  You cannot set a separate tone for this unless categories is on.

It is a good tip, though, as some people do not know how to add their own sound.
