Stopped attaching photos in Gmail

I get this error image when trying to attach photos to an email message after the most recent update. I have tried refreeshing and the turn it off and on tricks. Nothing in settings seems to help. Any ideas...

My wife experienced this the other day on her S9+. Click the 3 line menu on the upper left and select Images and then click on Camera.
