Strange Video Timer

Recently, when I start a video in camera, I get a timer on the right that I hadn't seen before. I think it's a countdown. 

How can I disable it?

Is your storage almost full? The countdown on the right hand side represents how much space (in time) you have on your phone to record the video. I don't believe there is a way to disable it.

I finally got around to deleting files from this device. The timer went away. You were so right, and I am so grateful.
