Hi Samsung Members 👋

I’d like to suggest a simple but very practical feature for Galaxy users.
When we remove our Galaxy Buds (in my case using a Galaxy S25 Ultra), the system should automatically switch the audio output to the phone speaker — without needing to disconnect or manually change the output from the Media panel.

Right now, when you take off the Buds, the music just pauses, but the audio output stays connected to the earbuds.
So, if you want to quickly play a video or voice note from your phone, you have to manually open the panel and select the phone speaker every single time.

This could be improved with a setting in Labs or Modes and Routines+ like:

> :counterclockwise_arrows_button: “When Galaxy Buds are removed, switch audio output to phone speaker.”

For example, Apple devices already have this behavior built-in across all iPhones and AirPods, where the sound automatically switches between the devices in a very seamless and natural way.

It would be awesome to see Samsung bring that same level of smart integration to the Galaxy ecosystem 💙
It’s a small detail, but it would make the user experience much smoother for those of us who use the Buds all day long.

Thanks Samsung for considering this idea!

It works that way on my phone. When I remove my Ear Buds it automatically switches to my phone speaker.

Nothing pauses, both music and calls switch to my speaker.

On iPhones, when you remove your AirPods, the audio automatically switches to the phone’s speaker — not just during calls, but also when watching videos on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, or any other app.
Then, when you put the AirPods back on, the audio instantly goes back to the AirPods again — all this happens without disconnecting, turning off Bluetooth, or pausing anything manually.

It’s smooth, fast, and feels completely natural.

On Galaxy devices (like my S25 Ultra with Galaxy Buds Pro), this automatic switch only happens during phone calls — not during media playback.
So, if you take off your Buds while watching a video, the sound stays connected to the Buds instead of moving to the phone speaker. You have to open the Media Output panel and switch it manually, which breaks the flow a bit.

It would be great if Samsung could add this same auto-switch feature for media audio — not just for calls.
It would make the experience more seamless and convenient, just like how it already works on iPhones with AirPods.

As I mentioned before my Buds seamlessly switch to my phone speaker with no issue. I didn't have to change any settings.

@Gari02 I'm not seeing it work that way. The audio seamlessly transfers from my buds to my phone with no problem.

Oh wow, mine only does that for calls or when pausing music.
How did you make it switch to the phone speaker automatically?

With the Galaxy Buds3 Pro I believe that there's a toggle switch in the settings menu for that particular feature. Otherwise, you could always set it up as a routine in modes and routines, or have Bixby set it up.
