I don't know who the "smart" guy was who thought this update was a smart idea. From the notifications, having to swipe side to side to see what you need. Scrolling up and down for apps. The power button is not longer a power button? Like, **bleep**?? I'm a lifer with Samsung, this update has been the worst thing I've ever seen, worse than having to hand in my note because it will catch on fire *jk*

Galaxy S Phones@kwazimodo Not to worry, you can change all those items.
To change the notification/quick panel area, swipe down on the top right side of the screen. Click the pencil icon in upper right. Then click the Panel settings button in top left. Click on Together.
Scrolling up/down for apps. To change it back to side to side scrolling, swipe up to open the Apps screen. Click the 3 dots at the end of the search bar. Select Sort. Select Custom order.
You can change the side button operation by going to phone settings -> Advanced features -> Side button.
