okay so my phone messaging app is updated and it makes the notification sound but it doesn't show on my notification list. so I'm constantly having to check the app if I received messages PLEASE HELP

Did you choose the option that says "show content on lock screen"?
I have the S8 and for quite some time, most of the time I don't get any notifications when I have text messages. IF the phone is locked, I'll see an icon. But when it's active, nothing. My settings are all correct. There are times I've missed important messages because of this, and all my other app notifications work fine. I've brought it in to TMobile stores several times (my carrier), no one there could figure it out either. This is really getting annoying! Help.
