Galaxy S PhonesWhen I take pictures, they automatically go to the Camera Roll folder on OneDrive. Where is the specification on the phone as to where that Camera Roll folder is? My wife has one and I have a different one. I can't find where a setting might be that names the folder for "camera roll".

Galaxy S PhonesWell, I just renamed the folder and somehow it found it at the new location. So it made it easy to use, but, being a programmer, I'd still like to know where it keeps that information.

Galaxy S PhonesI'm not asking where the camera roll is on the phone. I'm asking where the onedrive location is obtained from. I presume there is a setting somewhere that says when the camera on the phone uploads new photos, the place to store them on OneDrive is "some name on onedrive".
There must be a setting someplace since my wife's phone sends to a different folder than mine.

Galaxy S PhonesHmm... I just checked to see what the OneDrive camera roll folder was for both my wife and me. After checking the contents to see which folders were getting actually updated with latest photos, it looks like both of us have the SAME folder. That folder is "SkyDrive camera roll". I could have sworn one of them was actually just "Camera Roll". That must have been a local folder or something else.
So, never mind. 🙂
It looks like there might not be a setting saying where the camera roll goes on OneDrive. Assuming everyone sees the "SkyDrive camera roll". Of course, ours might be that because we've been using OneDrive with Windows Phones before having to switch to Samsung phones.
Where does everyone else have it? What say you? Is it just "Camera roll", or does everyone have "SkyDrive camera roll"? If not everyone has the old skydrive designation, then there must be a setting somewhere...?

Galaxy S PhonesThe default onedrive location for photos from my phone is Pictures -> Samsung Gallery -> DCIM. Photos go to the Camera folder inside DCIM. Also inside DCIM you will find other Gallery folders that you have chosen to sync.

Galaxy S PhonesAs far as I can tell, you are talking about where on the PHONE the camera roll is. I'm asking about where they are in OneDrive. Like when you go to the web interface to OneDrive. Where are the camera roll photos there, on the web interface?
For me, I have the camera roll on the phone at "SD Card/DCIM/Camera". And that syncs to "SkyDrive camera roll" on OneDrive on the web interface.

Galaxy S Phones"As far as I can tell, you are talking about where on the PHONE the camera roll is."
Nope. It is the location on OneDrive.

Galaxy S PhonesHmph. I guess that means that the location is specified SOMEWHERE, but I don't know where. Yours is definitely organized differently than mine. But SOMETHING has to track where the phone is supposed to upload pictures to.
I'm sure ours is in a SkyDrive folder because we started back when it WAS SkyDrive and Microsoft had to rename it because of Sky TV lawsuit. And we were using Windows Phones which used SkyDrive.
So probably when we installed OneDrive on the phones it got the location of the upload folder from something and continues to have that stored somewhere.
I wanted to change it to just "Camera Roll" or even some subfolder of something, but can't see how to change it.
Which led me to ask the question of where the setting is for where the upload should be targeted.
Thanks for that information anyway.

Galaxy S PhonesThen you can go into files, (or see it in the OneDrive app) there you will see camera roll, click on that and you will see all the pictures/videos that were synced from your Samsung gallery. Also click on pictures, you will see 2 folders: 1 that says camera roll and it shows the most recent picture/ videos you've taken... 2 Samsung gallery.. click on that and you will see folders, one should read DCIM click on that, and if you created folders in your Gallery, you will see them there.

Galaxy S PhonesAs far as I can tell from a quick read over, that is just describing how syncing to cloud works. It doesn't say where the setting is that says what the target OneDrive folder is. That is the information I'm looking for. I've been using OneDrive since it was SkyDrive and using a Windows phone. When I switched to Samsung S10, I set up OneDrive and the sync has been working since then.
But I never looked to see how it decided which folder to use on the OneDrive cloud. I just used whatever it did. Now, I'm considering changing the folder structure for a variety of reasons, and I don't know how to CHANGE what folder the phone targets on the cloud.
I don't have a Samsung Cloud app.
