I have unlocked galaxy S10 purchased from Samsung directly and AT&T carrier. I dont see any of the following option

1. Connection -> Wi-fi calling

2. Connection - > Mobile network -> Mobile data -> Enhanced LTE

Therefore I cannot make wi-fi calling. The LTE keeps falling back to HSPA+ (3G). A lot of network connectivity issues. Data slows down if you are on a call. AT&T call protect doesn't work.

Anyone else having this issue?

Wi-Fi calling is a Carrier specific feature. It is possible that an unlocked device wouldn't have this feature as the phone wouldn't be locked to a carrier to provide the feature.

@Samsung_Stephanie  You are right that Wi-Fi calling is carrier specific feature. Doesn't that mean, I can go to any carrier and it will work if carrier supports it? Unlocked device helps you to switch carrier but not use their features? It seems to be strange requirement of unlocked device.

Unfortunately not in every case. It would depend on the carrier and if they make their feature available to unlocked devices.

@userxWkPANeLJZ I think all samsung unlocked phones do not support AT&T network features as of now but according to AT&T it will be by end of 2019 just as long as the phone supports VoLTE and wifi calling and since S10+ U1 do support all these features we just have to wait till end of 2019 i guess.

You can also call AT&T tech support and inquire about VoLTE availability to S10+ unlocked most likely they will say later this year. The rollout is very slow but it is in the process as of now.

AT&T finally confirmed that they dont support unlocked phones for VoLTE which connects to all these advance features. Per rep, AT&T is working on these issues but it is not their priority and she said there is no ETA. I was given two choices; change the phone or change the carrier. Not sure why but she didn't mention about flashing the firmware to at&t. Maybe it would void the warranty. Now I have to choose between these two options.

@userxWkPANeLJZ According to AT&T  business investors memo that AT&T will have VoLTE on "all phones" by end of this year (2019) this is due to 3G shutdown in 2022. VoLTE support for all phones is already on the work but it is a slow roll out. Eventually we will get VoLTE for unlocked devices by end of this year. AT&T MVNO straight talk is already getting VoLTE for samsung note 9 U1 but havent confirm this.

Samsung Galaxy S10e unlocked purchased from B&H

Does not have wifi calling from AT&T

Is there a way to flash some special firmware version to enable all AT&T features (including WiFi calling)?

If yes, where and where would be the instructions?

What may be the problems with doing flashing on my own?

This is an utter company line. I purchased a Note 8 unlocked almost two years ago. Wifi calling did not work. I flashed the AT&T firmware to the unlocked device and wifi calling worked.

My Note dies and I purchase an unlocked S10+ because they surely wouldn't pull the same trick again. Oh yes they did, with the added kicker that when I flashed the latest AT&T stock fimware I couldn't configure Wifi calling - I have to call them apparently. I'll be doing that tomorrow but I have virtually zero hope of anything but another lie, when all it takes is to add an IMEI number to a database to make it work.

If T-Mobile can do it, AT&T can do it - they just won't.
