I just upgraded from S7 to S10e
On S7, clock alarms would audibly sound even when the phone was muted. This is GREAT and the expected functionality.
Clock About reports version as: 10.1.00.43 and that it is the latest
On the S10e, the Alarms do NOT sound when phone muted. They only sound when phone unmuted and notification volume is up. But, then you hear every single beep and blip and bop all night long and can't get any sleep.
I've ensured that the Alarms have "Alarm Sound" turned ON
and the individual volume set at about 80%
I've also done all the following suggested by similar threads:
- uninstalled SmartThings
- turned off auto-restart
- Cleared the "Cache Partition"
- Do not Disturb is OFF
But, if the phone is muted or on muted/vibrate...
When an alarm go off, it makes one short vibrate, and NO sound.
This seems like a critical flaw.
It really should work that way the S7 did!!!
Am i missing some setting?
How do you get the Alarm Sound to actually make a sound when the phone is muted?
Thanks NichBoce, That got me excited, sure sounded like that would work.
Sadly, it made no difference. All it did was turn off the single short vibrate when the alarm goes off.
Now, all i have is coompletely silent alarms. Needless to say, silent alarms aren't much help waking up in the morning :-(
Thanks again for the reference, it sure sounded good.
i'm starting to think i have something else wrong specific to my phone :-(
