How do I "unset" a default application?

JUMP TO SOLUTION

I was looking at a photos and videos and accidentally selected to ALWAYS use a particular app.  It wasn't the one I wanted.  How to I get it to "unremember" the default app to use?  I don't recognize a setting that would undo it.  (in fact, I can't even find a list of defaults for different types of files)

I THINK I got it.  I found the Photos app in the default apps.  I did a "clear defaults" or some such and I think that fixed.  Not totally for sure yet, because I don't know what I accidentally selected originally.

But I'm going to say that was it.

I'm guessing that you are not using a Galaxy S10 with One UI.  I don't have a "settings > apps > three dots" that I can find.  There is "settings > apps > default apps", but I don't see what one should do there.
