IMS service and com.android.phone keeps stopping after latest update Galaxy S10

My S10 keeps showing the message 'IMS service keeps stopping' and 'com.android.phone keeps stopping' frequently after getting the latest update from Samsung on 9/9/2019. The phone is very slow, unresponsive and drains battery quickly.

I have a US bought phone (from the Samsung website) that I'm currently using in Australia. I have seen many people reporting similar issues for S9 phones in separate active threads.

 

Also the phone keeps dropping signals as well. Resulting in virtually zero connectivity for making or receiving phone calls or Internet connectivity as well.

 

On removal of SIM the phone works just fine, untill you put the SIM back in again.

 

I did provide all the details on a direct message to the admin on September 11 as I'm pretty sure a lot of people would have done by now. However we've not heard about a timeline for the fix. If nothing else please provide a patch to rollback the rogue update.

I am in the exact same boat! I woke up this morning to find the update on my s10+ and now it keeps prompting me that the IMS Service and com.android.phone keeps stopping and the phone is significantly laggy now

Few threads going around about this and I am sure Samsung is aware of the issue.

Maybe @SamsungZell can provide more info

Hello @SamsungAdam  as much as I appreciate your response I am sensing that the efforts on part of your team are mearly lipservice because i already provided all the detils you asked to @SamsungZell  on September  11 but I have not heard about any update on resolution of this issue.

I just upgraded from the S9 to the S10. I used the Samsung Smart Switch app to transfer to the apps and data to the new S10. I have tried deleting the system cache, deleting Smart Switch application, deleting the cache in the Message app. for approximately 5 days and during this time there were 2 updates. I believe this issue started after the first or second update. The error message appears after a restart of the phone in full and safe mode. Doing a deletion of the System  cache did not fix the issue as well. I also tried removing the SD card at the recommendation of ATT tech support. ATT if after doing  all the above the error message continues I would need to reinstall the S10 operating system and reinstall all apps. This appears to be a draculean solution and want to try some other fix that I can not aware of.  Does anyone have a resolution to this issue? I've never used this samsung.com website and dont know if I will get notified of a reply.

You normally don't get notified when using PC to access this forum.  The only time you will be notifed if someone uses @mention.

Go to settings>about phone>software information and take screenshot of the page, then scroll to the bottom and take another one

I resolved the issue by changing the SIM card to the one that came with the new phone, which was an insurance replacement. The prior phone had no issues other than the audio jack not working intermittently. I was told by Assurion that I could use the same SIM card from my S9.
