Notification Problem In Messaages

My home screen (S10) is not showing an unread messages count.  It also vibrates but makes no sound when a new message comes in.  What gives?  I've tried all suggested fixes I've seen but no luck.

the sound would be under phone setting if you want to hear the notification coming in.
also turn in sync notification to see if that helps
