Notifications in notification bar are showing up blank.

JUMP TO SOLUTION

More and more of my notifications have been showing up as blank for the past few weeks. Does anyone else have this issue? Screenshot_20191008-121836_Gmail.jpg

It happens when you have your night mode sent to automatic schedule. That happens in the mornings right???? If you want to see them you'd have to switch to night mode since in the morning when the night mode switches back to light. You can't see the notifications because the text are in white against the white background

Are you running a theme on your device, that changes the font color to white?

Have you tried wiping the cache partition?

1.    Turn off the device.
2.    Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
3.    When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
4.    An ‘Installing system update’ message will show for 30 – 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5.    Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6.    Press the Power key to select.
7.    Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8.    When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9.    Press the Power key to restart the device.

This is exactly what it was! It's kind of dumb that this happens, but at least I can see them now. Thank you so much!

Are you running Android 9 or the Android 10 beta?

That's not a solution!  That's a work-around to a defect!  Fix this Samsung!

Edit: the following fixed the problem temporariky, but a few hours later, it's back again. I'm leaving this up in case it helps someone figure out the real issue.

---

You need to update and reload your Theme to fix this problem. (Note: if you are running a theme that has not been updated by the developer since last July, this may not work for you.)

Go to Settings > Wallpapers and Themes. Tap the hamburger icon in the top left, then tap My Stuff. If "Update All" appears, do that first. Then tap your theme, followed by Apply.

After living with this issue for almost 9 months, this is what finally fixed it for me. Hope it works for you too.
