Re: Try switching the screenshot capture to a hand swipe inst...

I think we have a consensus! Poorly thought through ergonomic or an over specced way to deliver a screenshot. #Samsung step up!

Re: S10 Screenshot buttons too sensitive / zero delay

I bought the S10+ Ceramic after my trusty S6 finally bit the dust after 4 years of faithful service.  After a couple of weeks using the S10+, which I expected would mitigate all the S6's shortcomings, I am so ready to sell it at a slight loss and give the Huawei P30 Pro a try instead.  In the entirety of the 4 years I used the S6, not once did the device ever take a screenshot by mistake.  NOT ONCE! In comparison, the lovely shiny brand new $1000 S10+ seems to have an special affinity for accidental screenshots; at least 7-10 per day.  Stupendously ANNOYING!  It never dawned to me that the "built-in" shutter delay on older phones could be the solution.  To me what is very obvious is the new placement of the Power button on the S10+ which was (for some reason) moved higher than previous generations making it adjacent to the volume rocker button, and hence prone to be pushed accidentally while turning the screen on and off. Not to mention the counter-intuitive experience when trying to reach for the Power button on such a large phone during one hand use. A HUGE blunder by Samsung, especially on their most expensive flagship phone!  Makes one wonder if the design team even took the time to actually test the phone on a day to day basis before releasing it to the public! A simple solution would've been to add the ability to modify the screenshot buttons in the settings as you can with the Bixby button, or even turning the button function off altogether as an option. I never liked using the button combination to take screenshots in the first place and always used one of the other options available, such as the Palm Swipe option or through the Edge Panel in the S10's case.
I'm sure this issue is prevalent amongst all S10 users and hope, pray really, that Samsung will introduce a software solution solution ASAP! The question is, do I wait until this MAY happen (it may not) or simply sell the s10+ while it still retains 90% of it's retail value and give the gorgeous Huawei P30 Pro a whirl instead! Decisions, decisions!

Re: S10 Screenshot buttons too sensitive / zero delay

I got my S10+ 3 months ago and I have the same issue.  What's with this phone?

@jasonpwnd wrote:

So I've had my S10 for awhile now. Aside from the galaxy earbuds breaking after trying to update I love the phone. My only complaint is that the button shortcut for taking screenshots (volume down + power button) is WAAAY too sensitive! There is ZERO delay time between pressing the buttons and taking the screenshot. Ergonomically, my index finder tends to wind up on the volume rocker button. So every time I go to turn the screen on or off there's a 50% chance of my taking a screenshot. Does anyone else have this issue?

At the end of each day I have to go through my gallery and delete a bunch of random, accidental screenshots. I've looked through all the settings (general settings, camera settings, you name it) but there doesn't seem to be any setting to either turn of the button screenshot shortcuts or to change the delay time on taking the screenshot with buttons. In the older phones I guess there was some setting for this, or at least there was about a 2 second delay you had to hold the buttons down for... I mean it's not as if we're not spoiled for options to take a screenshot already! There's at least 3-4 other ways to take a screenshot. We don't need to be the fastest gun in the west here people!

I'm curious if anyone else has this issue? I can't be the ONLY person who's fingers naturally always end up on the volume rocker button when using their thumb to turn the screen on/off with the power button, right? I'm also curious if anyone has any solution for this issue?

Thanks,

jp

Same thing here and it's very annoying to always deal with deleting screenshots.
