Android 11 - Always-On Display battery indicator location is terrible

Just picked up the Android 11 update on my S20 Ultra with Verizon today. The first immediate thing I am noticing is that the battery indicator on the always-on display while the phone is locked has been moved to the very bottom.

Is there a way to move the indicator? This location is completely terrible and unhelpful for how I typically pick up my phone without planning to unlock it since my palm always covers the bottom third of the phone. Whoever dreamed up this change did not do any substantive UX testing in my opinion.

I don't think there's a way to change that.

No. I also just upgraded to the S21 and haven't found an option to move it.

It really needs to change back to the way it was before Android 11.
