Hi, I bought a small IP camera and am required to install the app that comes with it. It is not a Google Play App.

I have done this before with my previous Galaxy phone and didn't have a problem.

In this case I have downloaded the APK and attempted to install using 'Files by Google'. When Files asked for more permissions I granted it.

The system says it is installing the new app and then seems to hang. Then it says "something went wrong. The app has not been installed".

I have tried different installation aps, I have tried switching off the security scanning, I have tried resetting the app preferences.

Do you know what else I can try?

Oh - and someone else downloaded the APK and it installed fine - so I don't think it is a problem with the APK.

If the first comment doesn't work, try installing from the original Samsung Files app.

Is the other person who downloaded the app on the same android version as you? Its possible the apk is not compatible with a new update to your device.
Device settings>about phone>software information>android version
