How do I sort contacts by last name? The default was to put everything by first name which is not helpful.

Open Contacts app > 3 lines in upper left > gear :gear: icon on top > sort contacts by > last name

Follow these steps.

  • Open Contacts app on your phone, then go to the Menu icon.
  • Now, simply hit Settings, then tap on Sort contacts by.
  • Then, you will have two options, first one is First name and second one is Last name, simply tap on Last name.
  • Now, go to the Name format, then choose your desired one.
