I want to purchase Verizon version of S20 FE without opening an account

I want to buy the S20 FE to use on Visible, Verizon's pre-paid carrier.  When I try to buy the Verizon version, the website asks me to enter my Verizon account info or to create an account before I can check out.  I can order the unlocked version but I learned that the Verizon version of the phone has additional support for mmwave.

I did not realize you needed a Verizon account to buy their version.  This seems odd as I've been able to order T-Mobile phones in the past without needing a T-Mobile account.

How are people who want to use phones on MVNO's supposed to be able to buy them?  I guess they want us to buy the unlocked versions in that case.  But this is unique since the Verizon version is special.

Any insights or workarounds would be appreciated!

I work for Verizon and it is the same way in store. Before you are able to buy a phone on either a pre or post paid account, you have to have an account.

I would suggest not getting Verizon version. I have Verizon and the service is great, however they literally block certain apps from Samsung, trying to get you to pair for Verizon apps. For example they block the c Samsung cloud. It's technically still there, but to use it you have to get an activity launcher and then you still can't open the app you can just use the launcher to perform backups and stuff without accessing the app. All so they can try to make your use there backup app which I lit backs up contacts unless you pay like $5.99 a month.

Thanks for the tip.  I went ahead and purchased the unlocked version.  It just doesn't have the Ultra Wide 5G capability that the Verizon version "UW" has.

Thanks for answering my question.  I guess Verizon is different in that they won't let you buy a phone unless you have active service with them.  At least in the past T-Mobile would like you buy a phone without any account.

I would gladly give you my account if I could have the unlocked version of my phone. lol for real though, BTW I don't know if many areas that even have UW access. A lot of places still don't have 5g. I guess it depends on how long you keep your phone, cause it might be worth it in the future although I doubt it. UW is just a gimmick to make there phone seem better, at its best I don't think it's a big enough difference to matter. I think the better option is to get good security, like a VPN and connect to wifi. these days is rare that I can't find a wifi connection 99% of the time

You make great points and I'll be happy with my unlocked version and move on. I like the flexibility to move to another carrier without hassle if a better plan comes up in the future.

Mine is loaded down with so much. Basically 3 apps for everything, the Samsung version, the Google version, and the Verizon version. It must be confusing for anyone who is not at least a little bit tech savvy. I bet they do everything 3 times.
