I have a Galaxy S20 and a Dell 1550 laptop running Windows 11. When I plug the phone into the laptop, the laptop does not see / connect with the phone - no prompts, nothing. I want to be able to drag over photos and such.

Things worth knowing:

  • My wife has the same phone and hers will connect to the laptop fine
  • This phone stopped connecting to the last computer, but previous it worked fine so some switch must have gotten changed
  • It does charge through the USB cord, it just won't connect as a USB storage

Thanks for any help.

@TBR Have you considered using Dex? It is extremely easy to drag photos from the Gallery to your PC.

I have not. But first the PC needs to see my phone, which it doesn't.

Hello, I understand how frustrating it is when your phone will not connect to the PC properly. Here are some tips that may help. https://www.fucosoft.com/android-issues/android-usb-not-detected-but-charging.html
